1. Pleasing yourself is the number one rule.  If you love and feel good in what you are wearing, that positive feeling will radiate out.
 
2. Wear a good, well fitted bra when shopping for your outfit.  It makes a huge difference to the overall look and size of the outfit you buy.
 
3. Shop with an open mind.  Often, what you have in mind doesn't suit your body shape and height.   Be open to suggestions.  Dresses are very popular this year, but they don't suit every shape.
 
4. Another thing to watch out for is your skin tone and the colour you choose.  Different colours suit different people.
 
5. Buy an outfit you don't constantly need to fix and if you are wearing a jacket, make sure you look equally good when you take the jacket off.
 
6. The right shoe is vital to complete the overall look, while the wrong shoe can ruin an outfit.  Buy a shoe with a heel height you can walk in comfortably for a realistic period of time.
